Cohocton Lions Club Grill Pavilion

WCCS STEAM Student Project - 2017

The design of this unique frame was dictated by two on-site factors: an established concrete fire pit with slab and the roof profile of the adjacent dining pavilion. Our students matched the roof slope of the dining pavilion and incorporated Scissor Trusses to mimic the dining pavilion trusses. We also placed the braces outboard of the posts to provide more headroom for Lions Club Members while cooking on the pit. This was our first off-campus frame project and set the standard for our cooperative relationships with service organizations in our community. The Lions Club purchased custom Tee-shirts for our students and instructors and our students were very well fed at lunch time. We are extremely fortunate to have such a supportive community and it is our highest priority to involve our students in projects that give back to our amazing local organizations that selflessly support our citizens.
