Trestle Pony Class 1 (June 4-5, 2022)
Some folks are intimidated by the thought of a full week workshop, yet still want to pick up some timber framing skills. Others prefer to build skills on a small scale before attending our Boot Camp class. Building Trestle Ponies (traditionally framed saw horses) is a great introductory project to begin to explore laying out and cutting basic timber framing joints. Students attending this class will take home a pair of trestle ponies they built as well as shop drawings of their project. Trestle Ponies will be made using Eastern White Pine. All necessary materials are provided (included in class cost) and students will use both traditional hand tools and modern chain mortisers. We have intentionally scheduled this class on a weekend to make it more available to folks unable to commit a full 5 days to other workshops. On-site primitive camping is free. For more information see the Skeeter Hollow Camp-Us link.
Cost: $250/person (including materials)
Class Size: Limited to 8 students
